Who We Are

As a fully accredited health center, University Health Services (UHS) provides clinical, preventive, skills-based and consultative services to undergraduates, graduate students and their dependents, as well as specialized services to faculty and staff.

What We Do

Outpatient Medical Services

The outpatient medical unit provides comprehensive primary care, including diagnostic assessments and care coordination, same-day assessments for acute concerns and specialty care. Specialty medical areas are tailored to the needs of the students, and include global and community health, sexual health and wellness, athletic medicine and travel medicine. Many of these services are available at the McCosh Health Center.

Counseling and Psychological Services

UHS’s mental health and wellness center offers crisis intervention, urgent care, counseling, group modalities and psychiatric evaluations. Its specialty areas are eating concerns, alcohol and other drug use, sports psychology, emotion management, and mindfulness-based stress reduction and related practices.

Infirmary Services

A 15-bed unit and skilled nursing staff provide on-site assessment, triage and treatment 24/7 to students with urgent health care needs. Students who experience complex or severe health problems are also serviced by the infirmary through support with transitioning to and from hospital-level care.

Health Promotion and Prevention Services
